PENINGKATAN KOMPETENSI PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN BAGI KADER KESEHATAN DALAM RANGKA "STOP TB"

Abstract

Abstrak: Kader kesehatan merupakan kunci keberhasilan program peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan bidang kesehatan dalam masyarakat, salah satunya terkait TB paru. Kader kesehatan dapat berperan sebagai penyuluh, membantu menemukan tersangka penderita secara dini, merujuk penderita dan sekaligus pengawas menelan obat bagi penderita TB paru secara langsung. Kegiatan kader kesehatan memerlukan keterampilan tersendiri, sehingga tidak hanya berbekal pengetahuan terkait penemuan, pengobatan TB paru, namun juga memerlukan pelatihan dalam melakukan komunikasi efektif dan metode penyuluhan efektif dalam memberikan informasi kepada pasien TB maupun masyarakat lainnya. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan peran kader kesehatan dalam pendidikan kesehatan. Metode yang digunakan adalah memberikan ceramah tentang peranan kader kesehatan dalam menunjang keberhasilan pengobatan TB paru dan melakukan pendampingan keterampilan pendidikan kesehatan berupa komunikasi dan konseling TB paru. Hasil yang dicapai adalah adanya peningkatan keterampilan kader kesehatan dalam memberikan informasi pengobatan TB paru berdasarkan lembar observasi “SATU TUJU†dengan selisih rata-rata nilai keterampilan antara sebelum dengan sesudah kegiatan sebesar 3,40.  Saran dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini, kader kesehatan diharapkan mampu terus berlatih memberikan informasi pengobatan TB paru baik kepada individu maupun keluarga serta masyarakat.

Abstract: Health cadres are the key to the success of the program to increase knowledge and skills in the health sector in the community, one of which is related to pulmonary TB. Health cadres can act as extension workers, helping to find suspected sufferers early, referring patients and at the same time supervising the swallowing of drugs for pulmonary TB patients directly. Health cadre’s activities require special skills, so that they are not only armed with knowledge related to the discovery and treatment of pulmonary TB, but also require training in effective communication and effective counseling methods in providing information to TB patients and other communities. The purpose of this service is to increase the role of health cadres in health education. The method used is by giving lectures about the role of health cadres in supporting the success of pulmonary TB treatment and providing assistance in health education skills in the form of communication and counseling for pulmonary TB. The results achieved were an increase in the skills of health cadres in providing information on pulmonary TB treatment based on the "SATU TUJU" observation sheet with an average difference in skill scores between before and after the activity of 3.40. Suggestion from this community service activity, health cadres are expected to be able to continue practicing providing information on pulmonary TB treatment both to individuals and families and the community.
